Farewell & Thank You!

This past April, I shared a farewell message, announcing my retirement from the Literacy Council after ten years as Executive Director.  https://www.frederickliteracy.org/a-new-chapter-begins-farewell-message-from-our-executive-director/.

Since that time, the outpouring of messages from throughout this wonderful community … including students, volunteers, our community partners, our Board of Directors, and fellow Literacy Council co-workers … leave me incredibly grateful to have had the privilege of working together all these years!

As I mentioned in my earlier message, your passion and commitment to lifting lives through literacy have been the driving force behind this critical work.  Together, with all the volunteers and supporters over the past sixty years, we have built a foundation that will continue to support and empower those we serve for years to come.

The Literacy Council will always hold a special place in my heart. I look forward to watching the organization grow and thrive. I know our paths will continue to cross in this vibrant, interconnected community, and I am excited about the opportunity to continue as a volunteer in the future!

Please join me in giving a warm welcome to our new Executive Director who will join us in August! The Literacy Council’s future is bright, and much work remains to be done for the well-being of adults and families in our community!
